The Minister of Rural Affairs, María José Gómez, has confirmed that on October 20, the payment of 47 million euros corresponding to the advance of the Common Agricultural Policy (CAP) campaign will begin.
According to the Galician Government in a statement, this measure aims to strengthen the liquidity of the agri-food sector in the current scenario of rising production costs. "From the Xunta, we work with seriousness and rigor to facilitate this situation," Gómez emphasized.
In her speech during the inauguration of the VI Agrogandeira Crianza Trevinca Exhibition, the head of Rural Affairs reiterated support for field professionals through the implementation of 3.6 million euros in aid to compensate for the increase in agricultural diesel and fertilizers.
At the same time, she called for a "fair" price that allows farmers and ranchers to receive adequate remuneration for their "excellent quality" products, and encouraged young people to invest in this productive sector.
Gómez also highlighted the importance of opening new markets to place these products recognized for their excellence, emphasizing the role of events like the Agrogandeira Crianza Trevinca Exhibition in promotion and marketing.
Finally, the minister announced that "soon" the resolution of the call for aid for the incorporation of young people into the field and the linked improvement plans, endowed in 2026 with a budget of 53 million euros, will be made public.
