The president of the PP in Aragón, Jorge Azcón, has defended the "intelligent" agreement reached between his party and Vox regarding the candidacies for the Senate ahead of the general elections on November 29, emphasizing that the purpose is to "regenerate Spain." To achieve this, he has stressed, "we have to win the elections" and "we are not going to accept that the PSOE decides to unbalance the board."
Azcón made these statements this Tuesday in remarks to the media, before touring the Central Market and the Historic Center of Zaragoza, accompanied by the campaign spokesperson for the PP and the Popular Parliamentary Group in the Congress of Deputies, Ester Muñoz.
In relation to the PP-Vox agreement to configure a joint candidacy for the Senate, Azcón has insisted that "it is an intelligent agreement that seeks to unite the vote and that we know what the fundamental objective is, which is to rebuild Spain and for that we have to win the elections."
The pact contemplates that Vox renounces registering its own lists for the Upper House in six provinces and presents a single candidate in another 14; for its part, the 'popular' have announced that they will not run in three constituencies where they have not obtained representation in the last elections.
In this context, the leader of the Aragonese PP has warned: "We are not going to let ourselves be fooled. The left has decided to change the rules of democracy when it sees that if votes go to parties, they lose the elections and decides to change the rules of democracy and ally with all the parties."
According to Azcón, "what the left expects is that the others stay looking at the bustards," but he has assured that "we are not going to lose sight of the ultimate goal of rebuilding Spain and that we all have the same rules in democracy."
He has demanded "to compete on equal terms," something that, he has specified, "does not mean that we are all the same, but, of course, in the Popular Party we are not going to accept that the PSOE decides to unbalance the board to favor its agreements and that we have to maintain a position that would only allow Pedro Sánchez to continue in La Moncloa."
To conclude, Azcón has conveyed his recognition to "all those who have been working and have made possible an agreement that will respect the will of the Aragonese and that will respect the will of the Spaniards."
