Chunta Aragonesista has presented a new initiative in the Cortes of Aragón to demand explanations from the regional Government, after detecting an error in the response sent by the Department of Education, Science and Universities to a parliamentary question from CHA regarding the disciplinary file opened against a teacher at IES Ramón y Cajal in Huesca.

The deputy spokesperson for CHA in the Cortes and spokesperson in the Education, Science and Universities Commission, Isabel Lasobras, has reminded that "the Government itself stated in writing that the sanctioning procedure had been processed fully respecting the hearing process and all procedural guarantees. However, the documentation of the file shows that the teacher's allegations, presented in due time and form, were not taken into account when it was incorrectly stated that they had not been submitted."

According to Lasobras, "we are facing a very concerning contradiction, because the Azcón Executive is conveying to the Cortes a version of the facts that does not coincide with the existing administrative documentation. The Government has the obligation to provide truthful and rigorous information to Parliament and to explain how such an error could occur in a procedure that directly affects the rights of a public worker."

The regional deputy maintains that, if it is confirmed that the allegations were registered within the legal deadline and yet were not considered in the resolution of the file, "we are facing a procedural defect that deserves an immediate explanation and that obliges the Department to review the actions taken and to fully guarantee the right to defense and legal security."

Lasobras emphasizes that this new parliamentary initiative adds to the warnings that CHA has been making for months about the functioning of the Educational Inspection in Altoaragón. "We continue to await a convincing explanation regarding the enormous difference in the number of disciplinary files opened in Altoaragón compared to the rest. The data provided by the Department itself reflects a territorial imbalance that is hardly justifiable, which continues to generate concern among the professional staff of public education."

With this new parliamentary question, CHA urges the Department of Education to clarify the discrepancy between its official response and the content of the administrative file, to determine the responsibilities arising from this failure, and to specify what measures it plans to adopt to ensure the full respect of procedural guarantees.

Likewise, the Aragonese formation reiterates the importance of clarifying the origin of the territorial imbalance in the opening of disciplinary files and restoring the trust of the educational community in the work of the Educational Inspection.
