The second vice president of the Junta de Castilla y León, Isabel Blanco, reiterated this Monday that the commitment of the regional government against male violence is "firm" and detailed that the allocation planned for 2027 specifically destined "expressly" for campaigns against gender violence will reach 1,150,000 euros, compared to the 575,000 euros allocated in 2024.
"We are doubling the funding for awareness," Blanco emphasized, who announced that the draft budget for the Community for 2027 also includes a campaign of one million euros focused on raising awareness against sexual assaults and on giving visibility to ATIENDO, with the aim of reducing the barriers that hinder seeking help and conveying that the responsibility for a sexual assault "falls on the perpetrator."
"No victim should feel guilty, marked, or stigmatized for the violence suffered," the second vice president stressed, who insisted that the protection of a woman victim of gender violence is not limited to ensuring her safety. "It also means accompanying her in her recovery, promoting her economic independence, and offering her real opportunities to rebuild her life project," pointed out the PP leader.
The regional official has also taken on the challenge of addressing digital violence in all its forms, from harassment on social networks to the non-consensual dissemination of intimate material or control through technological devices, for which she plans to promote prevention, detection, and specific training actions aimed at professionals.
Alongside this, she emphasized that comprehensive attention to victims and their children requires "a stable, close network capable of adapting to the needs of each case" and announced that 2.18 million euros will be allocated to ensure the attention and protection of victims of gender violence and the people in their care, through a network formed by five emergency centers, with 65 places, and thirteen shelters, with another 151 places, in addition to other specialized resources.
In total, the Atiendo service, which offers comprehensive assistance to victims of sexual violence through its nine provincial centers and a permanently operational virtual service, will have 2 million euros. Likewise, the specialized psychological care service for victims of gender-based violence will see its funding increased by 100,000 euros, reaching a total of 550,000 euros.
Blanco has added that the Junta will continue developing the "Atrapadas" program, aimed at the comprehensive care of women who find themselves in prostitution contexts and victims of trafficking for sexual exploitation, along with measures aimed at promoting the hiring of women victims of gender-based violence and facilitating their access to housing.
Regarding the area of Women and Equal Opportunities, he explained that the budget will increase by 27.3 percent, reaching 24.1 million euros. He detailed that the boost to female employment will concentrate almost 5 million, an amount that quadruples compared to previous budgets.
In this chapter, he focused on the 3 million euros allocated to employment and entrepreneurship aid for women and the 600,000 euros for the promotion and professional advancement of women, in addition to the 200,000 euros from the Employment Program for Women -Pemcyl-, aimed at improving the employability of women in vulnerable situations.
Blanco also highlighted that the "Capacita" and "Multiplica" programs, with allocations of 360,000 euros and 108,000 euros, respectively, go "a step further" in their purpose of supporting women in consolidating their professional careers. The former is based on personalized pathways for training and labor insertion of women in special vulnerable situations, while the latter promotes equality in companies through information, training, and advisory actions.
Finally, he indicated that from the Second Vice Presidency, efforts will continue to promote the incorporation of young women into university careers and technical vocational training degrees, through programs and resources amounting to 440,000 euros.
