The second section of the Provincial Court of A Coruña will hold trial on November 3 and 4 against a father and his son, who are accused of attacking two other men, also father and son, after a violent fight in Ferrol. For the Public Prosecutor's Office, the facts constitute a crime of attempted murder.

According to the Public Prosecutor's filing, around 10:45 p.m. on October 31, 2025, one of the defendants was inside his van on Avenida de Vigo in Ferrol when, for reasons that have not been clarified, he began an argument with the other two men, likewise father and son.

Next, the accused started the van and drove about 100 meters in the opposite direction of traffic until reaching Plaza Camilo José Cela, where he stopped the vehicle. The other two men followed him to the place, at which point the defendant got out of the car carrying a large bladed weapon.

At that moment, while the dispute with the two men continued, the other defendant, son of the first, appeared "armed with another large machete with which he dealt a strong blow to the head" to one of them.

Immediately afterward, a mutual assault took place between the accused father and son and the other two men. For the Prosecutor's Office, both acted with the intention of "ending their lives." The victims tried to defend themselves using chairs from the terrace of a nearby café to stop the attack.

During the fight, one of the accused got back into the van, "starting off at high speed toward them with the intention of running them over to cause their death, although he did not succeed because they dodged his action and both victims ran to take refuge in an entranceway."

The Public Prosecutor's Office considers that the facts constitute two crimes of attempted murder and requests a sentence of twelve years in prison for the father and 14 years in prison for the son.
