The magistrate of Court No. 3 of the Betanzos Trial Court has ordered the remand in provisional, communicated custody without bail of the eight arrested, including a member of the State Security Forces and Corps, in the context of an operation against drug trafficking carried out in different towns in the province of A Coruña.

Sources from the High Court of Justice of Galicia (TSXG) have indicated that on this day five of the detainees appeared before the judge, while on Sunday another three implicated in the same investigation had done so. The police operation was coordinated by Guardia Civil, Policía Nacional and Customs Surveillance.

The eight investigated are facing charges for an alleged offense against public health related to substances that cause serious harm to health and in a notably large quantity, as well as for their alleged involvement in a criminal organization.

In addition, two of the suspects who testified this Thursday before the judicial authority are being investigated for unlawful possession of weapons, while a third implicated is attributed with an offense of disclosure of secrets and unlawful access to reserved information.
