The Cantabria Prosecutor's Office demands a sentence of thirteen years in prison for a man accused of sexual assault against a fourteen-year-old girl, with whom he had arranged a meeting to go for a walk.

According to the public ministry's document, the accused met the teenager on the day she was celebrating her birthday and coincided with her again two months later, during his cousin's birthday. Days after that second occasion, they both agreed to meet to walk together, but "since it was raining, the accused sent a message to the girl telling her that it would be better to go to the apartment where he was waiting for her."

When the minor arrived at the house, the defendant "urged her to sit on some mattresses that were on the floor and, with lustful intent, despite knowing of the minor's repeated opposition to having sexual relations, he began to kiss her on the mouth forcibly and to touch her over her clothes."

According to the Prosecutor's Office, he then forced her "to have vaginal sexual relations with penetration by holding her tightly by the hips." The document adds that the relationship "was initially carried out without a condom and then with one, at the request of the minor, fearful of being infected."

For the public ministry, these facts constitute a crime of sexual assault against a minor under sixteen years old. Therefore, in addition to the thirteen years in prison, it requests fifteen years of prohibition from approaching and communicating with the victim, another fifteen years of supervised release once he serves the prison sentence, ten years of disqualification from exercising parental rights, guardianship, custody, care, or foster care, and eighteen years of special disqualification from performing jobs or activities that involve contact with minors.

In terms of civil liability, the public prosecution asks that the defendant compensate the victim with 10,000 euros for moral damages and the psychological consequences derived from the events.

The trial will be held this Tuesday, October 6, at 9:30 a.m., in the First Section of the Provincial Court of Cantabria, as reported by the Superior Court of Justice of Cantabria.
