The Supreme Court (TS) has decided to apply the Amnesty Law to four former members of the Parliament Board of 2017: Lluis María Corominas, Anna Simó, Ramona María Barufet, and Lluís Guinó, who had been convicted in 2023 for a crime of disobedience and were disqualified from holding elective public office.
According to the ruling, which Europa Press has accessed, the Chamber opts to declare the facts for which the four were tried as amnestied and, consequently, "their criminal responsibility for them is declared extinguished."
The first-instance resolution was appealed to the Supreme Court, which decided to suspend its processing until knowing whether the amnesty law passed constitutional control. After the endorsement of the Constitutional Court last October and the validation of the Court of Justice of the European Union (CJEU) a few weeks ago, the TS has finally proceeded to apply the amnesty.
