Three families have filed a complaint in the courts against the San Jaime school in Majadahonda, its former director, and a teacher for allegedly subjecting several students in a continuous manner to “disproportionate” humiliations, mistreatment, and punishments.

One of the students involved, aged 14, threw himself from a bridge of the M-50 in February and died on March 29. The families are asking for clarification as to whether a link exists between the treatment, which they claim he received at the center, and the subsequent suicide episode.

In the complaint, which Europa Press has obtained access to, the lawyer Ignacio Gordillo, on behalf of the families, calls for the opening of preliminary proceedings for an alleged crime against moral integrity against the San Jaime S.L. school, its former director, and a teacher.

The current management of the San Jaime school, which has a new person in charge, has refused to offer its version to Europa Press regarding the complaint, despite the agency’s attempts to obtain its position.

The complainants state that the events that affected this minor “were not isolated incidents, but would form part of a prolonged dynamic of degrading treatment toward different students”.

According to the document, the deceased student would have endured during the 2025/2026 school year “calls for attention, reprimands, and humiliations in front of his classmates”, repeated expulsions from the classroom, sanctions considered “disproportionate”, and allegations of harassment against other students that, in the judgment of the families, had no basis.

Accusations of harassment and the minor’s distress

The document details that the minor was frequently identified as responsible for the incidents that occurred in class and episodes of 'bullying' were attributed to students from lower grades. The parents argue that the student’s own tutor later admitted to them that she did not see the adolescent as a harasser of other classmates.

“This reality does not rest solely on the parents’ perception. There are direct witnesses—classmates and members of the center itself—and, above all, it is on record that the minor himself, while alive, told an independent professional, his psychologist, about the profound distress that the treatment he received at school caused him,” the complaint states.

The text especially dwells on what happened on February 12, the eve of the young man precipitating himself from the M-50 bridge. According to the account of the parents, that day several classmates threw him a ball and, after the incident, the teenager was reprimanded and forced to write a document explaining what had happened.

The complaint states that the student threw himself from the bridge in the early hours of February 13. He was urgently taken to a hospital, where he remained admitted for 44 days, until his death on March 29.

The parents also attach a report from his psychologist, dated July 10 and drawn up based on sessions prior to the February events, in which discomfort linked to the school setting and a "very limiting effect on his psycho-emotional development" were recorded.

"From the very first moment, the student’s classmates openly expressed their discomfort with the school, which they considered responsible for what happened. The students reproached the accused teacher for her responsibility; she told them to write down everything they thought about her to pass it on to the headmaster, and the students wrote four pages of complaints, whose destination is unknown," the document adds.

The families ask for the judicial investigation to clarify whether there is a relationship between the alleged treatment and the death of the minor, without the complaint text itself establishing, by itself, a direct causal link.

Two other former students and pattern of conduct

The document also includes the cases of two other former students of the center, whose families claim they suffered similar treatment. In one of them, numerous disciplinary reports, expulsions, and a sanction file are described, which was overturned by the Education Administration on April 1, 2025 after detecting irregularities, including a breach of procedural guarantees.

In the second case, the family reports dismissive comments and disciplinary measures that it considers unjustified. The Directorate of the Territorial Area Madrid-Oeste set aside, on June 1, 2026, a case opened by the school’s management after finding formal defects that would have caused the student to be left defenseless.

With regard to this student, the complaint indicates that the family had already lodged their complaints both with the school management and with the Education Inspectorate. Likewise, a psychiatric care report is included which, according to the written submission, reflects the minor’s persistent distress associated with being in the school and an improvement during weekends and school holiday periods.

The three families interpret these episodes as showing a pattern of action toward certain students and argue that the school management knew about the complaints without taking sufficient measures to prevent them from recurring.

Requested proceedings and required documentation

In their written submission, the complainants request that the legal representative of the company that owns the school, the former director, and the teacher identified be cited as persons under investigation, and that statements be taken from the parents, teachers, coordinators, and other possible witnesses.

They also ask that the center provide the academic and disciplinary records of the students, incident reports, internal communications, the minutes of the School Council, and all documentation relating to the episodes of January and February 2026.

Among the requested proceedings is also the statement of the professionals who attended to the minors and the inclusion of the psychological and medical reports that have been prepared.

In addition, the parents request that the judicial proceedings opened after the death of the adolescent—which are currently in provisional filing—be obtained so that they can be analyzed in light of the facts that are now being reported.
