Small and medium-sized enterprises and self-employed workers have a new opportunity to receive financial support for the implementation of work-life balance measures. The Junta de Extremadura has launched a call for aid to promote teleworking and flexible working hours, with subsidies that can reach 22,000 euros per company when certain conditions are met.

The program, endowed with 1.8 million euros, aims to facilitate that staff can combine their professional responsibilities with their personal and family life. The aid is aimed at businesses that carry out their activity in Extremadura and formalize agreements with their workers to introduce these forms of work organization.

The application submission period will remain open until November 15, 2026, although there is an important condition: companies have one month from the signing of the teleworking or flexible working hours agreement to request the subsidy. Therefore, not all interested parties can wait until the last day of the call.

Who can apply for the aid for teleworking and flexible working hours

The subsidies are intended for self-employed workers and small and medium-sized enterprises that have between one and 250 employees and carry out their activity in Extremadura. It is not essential for the company to have its registered office in this community, but it must have at least one work center in the territory.

To access the aid, applicants must meet a series of conditions:

  • Have hired at least one worker and not exceed 250 employees.

  • Not exceed 50 million euros in annual turnover or have an annual balance sheet of less than 43 million.

  • Be up to date with obligations to Hacienda, Social Security, and the regional administration.

  • Formalize teleworking or flexible working hours agreements for a minimum period of one year.

  • Comply with current labor legislation and applicable collective agreements.

Public entities and non-profit organizations are excluded from this call, which is aimed at promoting reconciliation measures in the Extremaduran business fabric.

How much money companies can receive: up to 22,000 euros

The call establishes two lines of subsidies that can be requested in a compatible manner, although the same worker cannot benefit from both lines simultaneously.

The first is intended for the implementation of telework. Companies will be able to receive 2,500 euros for each worker who begins to perform part of their workday remotely, whether an existing contract is modified or a new hire is made. To access the incentive, at least 30% of the weekly workday must be carried out through telework. The maximum amount will be 10,000 euros per company.

The second line is aimed at companies that introduce flexible working-hour measures. In this case, 2,500 euros will also be granted per worker with a workday flexibilization agreement, up to a maximum of 10,000 euros.

In addition, both modalities provide for an additional incentive. When female employment in the company is equal to or greater than male employment, the maximum limit of each line will be increased by 1,000 euros. In this way, a company that meets the requirements and reaches the maximums foreseen in the two modalities will be able to receive up to 22,000 euros.

What requirements must telework agreements meet

The granting of these subsidies does not depend solely on allowing employees to work from home or modify their schedules. The call requires that the measures be properly formalized and have a minimum duration of one year.

In the case of telework, it will be necessary to establish an agreement that regulates this modality and guarantees that at least 30% of the weekly workday is carried out remotely. This requirement may be met through the adaptation of an existing employment contract or through a new hire.

For the aids for working-hour flexibility, it will be necessary to formalize individual or collective agreements, which must be incorporated into the corresponding employment contracts. In all cases, the measures will have to respect mandatory rest periods, maximum working hours and the conditions set forth in collective bargaining agreements.

The subsidizable agreements must have been formalized between January 1 and November 15, 2026, according to the regional call.

How to apply for the aids before November 15

Interested companies and self-employed workers can submit their applications through the electronic headquarters of the Junta de Extremadura, using the procedure enabled for economic aids intended for the conciliation of work and family life.

The required documentation includes the official application form, proof of economic activity, and the agreements signed with the workers. Depending on the nature of the applicant, it will also be necessary to submit tax information, documentation of the company’s incorporation, or the employment contracts that justify the measures implemented.

The procedure can be consulted on the official aid page for work-life balance of the Junta de Extremadura, where the forms and the applicable regulations are also found.

The general deadline is November 15, 2026, but applicants must take into account the specific period of one month from the signing of the agreement. The call is processed by direct award, so meeting the requirements does not automatically guarantee the subsidy.

When the subsidies are paid

Once the documentation has been examined and the application approved, the Junta de Extremadura will pay 100% of the aid granted in a single payment. The deposit will be made into the bank account indicated by the beneficiary, which must be registered in the Autonomous Administration’s Third-Party System.

The deadline established for resolving the procedure is three months, and administrative silence is considered to be a rejection. The call thus seeks to encourage the implementation of labor organization formulas that make it possible to improve work-life balance, especially among the self-employed and small businesses that have fewer resources to introduce these measures.
