The Andalusian counselor of Artificial Intelligence, Digital Development, and Public Administration, José Antonio Nieto, has demanded from the central Executive "a clear plan" against drug and human trafficking, activities that he has described as "the two great world mafias." With this request, he aligns himself with the letter sent by the president of the Junta, Juanma Moreno, in which he requests to reactivate the Coordinating Body for Anti-Drug Operations (OCON-Sur).

"They are winning the battle, they are exposing the entire Andalusian society to risks that they should not have to avoid," he stated this Tuesday in Seville during a press conference, in which he labeled the action of the central Government as a "failure."

Nieto lamented that Andalusia "has become a territory where mafias can roam freely" and warned of the "expansion" of these organizations throughout the Andalusian coast. In his opinion, "they move with too much freedom, and it is causing a lot of insecurity and much harm to the tranquility and security of the Andalusians that must be avoided."

In light of this scenario, he defended the need to recover OCON-Sur and insisted on its "usefulness" during the time it was operational. As he recalled, "it demonstrated that it worked and that it created a serious problem for the mafias and that it truly protected society. Instead of enhancing it and extending it, what the Government did was eliminate it and dissolve it."

The counselor also emphasized that the Government "has very powerful tools with artificial intelligence to try to fight against the mafias" and, in this line, has offered to collaborate "jointly" from the Junta to reinforce that strategy.
