The president of the PP of Castilla y León and of the Junta, Alfonso Fernández Mañueco, defended this Tuesday in Palencia that the national leader of the PP, Alberto Núñez Feijóo, is "the only one capable of managing the day after" the general elections on November 29, in a context that he described as a "calamitous" stage conditioned by the action of a central Government that is "destructive, useless, and murky."
At the pre-campaign event of the Popular Party held in the capital of Palencia, Fernández Mañueco emphasized that Feijóo embodies "good politics," based on "rigor, serenity, and a vocation for public service." According to him, the PP has a "solid project of stability, certainty, and hope to promote political change in Spain."
The regional leader expressed his support for the candidacy of Palencia to Congress and the Senate, led by Milagros Marcos and Roberto Martín, respectively, and made a call for "maximum mobilization" of the party in the 191 municipalities of the province to "equal or surpass" the results obtained in previous elections.
Fernández Mañueco insisted that the key to the upcoming electoral process is not limited to removing the president of the Government, Pedro Sánchez, from La Moncloa, but in who is in a position to take the helm of the country the day after the polls, a responsibility that he attributed exclusively to Núñez Feijóo.
At the same time, he advocated for "turning around" state economic policy through a tax cut, controlling inflation, and strengthening public services. He also demanded the recovery of "equality and solidarity" among autonomous communities, paying "priority" attention to the primary sector, and accelerating pending infrastructures in the province, with special mention to the A-67 highway and its accesses.
The president of the Junta contrasted the actions of the central Executive with the policies implemented in Castilla y León regarding "free" public transport, promotion of housing, and leadership in essential services such as health, education, and care for dependency.
Provincial positions and candidates
The president of the Popular Party of Palencia, Ángeles Armisén, highlighted the establishment of the party in the province and stressed the urgency of a political change at the national level based on commitment, institutional respect, and public service.
In his intervention during the pre-campaign event, Armisén has assured that the PP has a team prepared for the reconstruction of Palencia and the whole country. In this line, he has bet on conveying to the central Government a management model focused on "consensus, keeping one's word, and reducing tax pressure," taking as a reference the measures applied in Castilla y León.
He has also advanced that the provincial candidacy will tour all municipalities to present to the neighbors a proposal aimed at economic recovery and the defense of a country of free and equal citizens.
The number one candidate of the PP for the Senate from Palencia, Roberto Martín, has emphasized that the party is entering the race with a list "prepared and with experience" in public management. He has stressed that in this election two political models are being faced and has reiterated the team's willingness to work from the very first moment on the "priority" problems of the Castilians and Leonese and of all Spaniards.
For her part, the number one candidate for Congress from Palencia, Milagros Marcos, has maintained that the electoral call is "decisive for the continuity of democracy." She has appealed to the responsibility of the electorate to support "in a unified manner" the candidacy of the Popular Party and ensure a representation aimed at institutional stability.
Marcos has added that the team goes to the polls with the purpose of promoting a country in which families regain coexistence without confrontations. At the same time, she has warned of the consequences of vote fragmentation in small constituencies and has called for concentrating citizen support on projects focused on concrete realities and on defending the interests of the province in the Cortes Generales.
The presentation event of the PP lists has brought together local officials, candidates, and militants from all over the province within the activity calendar prior to the official start of the electoral campaign.
