Justice has ordered this Saturday, October 31, the remand in provisional, communicated, and without bail of the alleged leader of Blocus, the movement linked to the calls spread on social media that have generated concern among merchants and security forces in the face of the possibility of new looting during Halloween. The suspect was arrested on Friday in the Valencian town of Picanya for his alleged participation in a criminal organization intended to promote public disorder, robberies with force in commercial establishments, and damage.
The decision has been adopted by the magistrate holder of seat number 2 of the Investigation Section of the Court of Instance of Torrent (Valencia), according to what has been reported by the Superior Court of Justice of the Valencian Community (TSJCV). In addition to ordering his remand, the judge has imposed a specific precautionary measure to prevent the suspect from being able to continue using social media from the prison center.
Specifically, the detainee will be prohibited from using computers and other devices that allow access to social platforms of any kind, a restriction that will apply during his stay in prison and that constitutes one of the particularities of the judicial resolution.
The judge prohibits the alleged leader of Blocus from using social media from prison
The judicial resolution establishes that the suspect will remain in provisional, communicated, and without bail prison, which means that he will not be able to regain his freedom by paying an economic amount while the precautionary measure remains in place.
However, the magistrate has introduced an additional limitation directly related to digital platforms. Although the regime of communicated prison allows maintaining certain communications with the outside within penitentiary limits, the alleged responsible party of Blocus will not be able to use the computer devices of the center that allow him to access social networks.
According to what the TSJCV has specified, the prohibition affects computers and other devices that facilitate access to social platforms "of any kind". This restriction does not mean that the suspect is left without communication, but rather that it specifically limits his access to this type of digital tools.
The decision acquires special relevance because of the nature of the facts under investigation, related to the alleged organization and incitement to commit crimes through calls and messages disseminated via the internet.
Investigated for criminal organization, public disorder, and robberies in shops
The alleged ringleader of Blocus is being investigated in a judicial case opened for crimes of criminal organization intended to incite the commission of public disorder, robberies with force in commercial establishments, and damage.
The investigation seeks to clarify his alleged participation in an organized structure related to these conduct, in a context marked by the calls that have circulated on social networks in recent days.
However, the legal classification of the facts is still provisional and could be modified as the judicial proceedings advance, as the High Court of Justice of the Valencian Community has specified.
Admission to prison constitutes a precautionary measure adopted during the investigation and does not imply a conviction nor determine the guilt of the detainee, who retains his presumption of innocence.
A second detainee for the facts has been brought before the court in Catarroja
The judicial investigation has also left a second detainee related to the same facts, according to judicial authorities.
This second person has been brought before the Court of Instance of Catarroja (Valencia), although for the moment no resolution has been communicated about his procedural situation.
Therefore, it is still unknown whether the second investigated person will be released, whether precautionary measures will be imposed on him, or whether his admission to prison will also be ordered.
The judge's resolution in Torrent comes on a day marked by the new Blocus calls scheduled for this Saturday, October 31, coinciding with Halloween celebrations. Concern over the possibility of new disturbances has led to the reinforcement of preventive measures in different Spanish cities.
The proceedings remain open and the judicial authorities must determine the degree of participation of the investigated persons and the possible criminal responsibilities arising from the facts. For now, the alleged leader of the movement will remain in provisional prison and without access to social networks, while the judicial proceedings continue.
