The National Police arrested on Wednesday, October 28 in Valencia a 17-year-old minor accused of promoting calls to loot shops and commit acts of pillage next Saturday, October 31. The teenager is linked to the messaging channels called 'Blocus Vlc', from which calls to participate in the riots were spread.
The young man would have created two channels to coordinate the calls, set the date and time of the assaults, and encourage other users to participate. The police investigation seeks to clarify the scope of these calls and the possible involvement of other people.
The detainee is allegedly charged with crimes of conspiracy to commit public disorder, conspiracy to commit property crimes, and membership in an organized group. The Juvenile Prosecutor's Office agreed to his precautionary detention, according to information published about the case.
Two channels to coordinate the calls
The 'Blocus Vlc' channels were used to spread messages encouraging people to participate in looting of shops during the Halloween night. According to Cadena SER, one of the groups came to exceed 400 members. The investigation indicates that the messages included instructions to organize the acts and recruit participants.
The arrest took place three days before the date announced for the looting. The authorities are investigating the content spread and the circumstances in which the calls were organized.
