A road worker has died this Monday in Lanjarón (Granada) after suffering a fall of about 25 meters while working in the area of the Tajo del Colorao. The accident occurred around 11:45 a.m., according to the emergency service 112 Andalucía.
The coordination center received a distress call at that time alerting that a worker had stumbled while on a stone wall and had fallen rolling down the slope from an approximate height of 25 meters.
After receiving the alert, forces from the Emergency Medical Center 061, Local Police, Civil Guard, Mountain Rescue and Intervention Group (GREIM), and Firefighters were mobilized.
The Civil Guard confirms the death
The emergency services located the worker and the Civil Guard subsequently confirmed his death as a result of the workplace accident.
The deceased was a worker from the company responsible for the works being carried out in the area of the Tajo del Colorao. So far, no further details about his identity or age have been publicly disclosed.
As it is a workplace accident with a fatal outcome, the emergency service reported what happened to the Labor Inspection.

The City Council of Lanjarón has expressed its sorrow for the death of the worker and has conveyed its condolences to his family, colleagues, and loved ones.
The City Council has also announced the suspension of the municipal events scheduled for this Monday as a sign of respect and mourning. The flags of municipal buildings will fly at half-mast.
The City Council has also made itself available to the authorities to collaborate in everything necessary after the accident.
