Anthropic has announced Claude Duet, an artificial intelligence agent designed to proactively act as a member of the team in small businesses, in a line similar to what Muse from Meta and Dots from OpenAI already propose.

Claude Duet is presented as a new application aimed at professionals and small businesses that integrates a proactive agent capable of operating autonomously and making decisions aimed at helping the user to better organize and focus on "ambitious projects."

This agent operates on Claude Opus 5.5, a model that Anthropic introduced at the end of September, equipped with additional security safeguards and performance improvements that make it stand out in programming, thanks to its ability to tackle large-scale and ongoing execution projects.

The company has also designed Claude Duet to "be resolutive and to determine what requires your attention, what can wait, and when it should consult you first," as detailed by Anthropic in an official statement.

Among its functions, Claude Duet generates a summary in the early morning with the most relevant aspects of the connected applications, can monitor those apps and alert when any need intervention, in addition to autonomously handling multiple tasks, such as scheduling meetings, creating dashboards with dozens of tools, or developing web applications.

As explained by Anthropic, the agent has already been used internally to help one of its developers mentally review their task list while walking, another to record tasks and keep the results for an evening report, and, for the Claude Duet team itself, to coordinate interviews with users, work together on prototypes, and even deploy code.

Since it can interact with the user's applications and execute actions on their behalf, the company emphasizes the focus on security: Anthropic guarantees that Claude Duet "never sees directly" the passwords or login tokens, incorporates defenses against hidden instructions and the injection of malicious messages, and has a security system that reviews each message to prevent the leakage of sensitive information.

Claude Duet is offered in a preliminary version through a standalone app for iOS and Android, as well as through claude.ai, where it is included in the Pro and Max plans.

This agent from Anthropic is in the same category as other proposals already advanced by Meta and OpenAI. Muse has been conceived to assist the user in a wide range of tasks, which include booking a trip, managing the calendar, or filling out forms, to renegotiating a bill or making a payment after prior confirmation.

OpenAI's Dots, for its part, follows a philosophy similar to Muse, but it relies especially on the capabilities of OpenAI's advanced voice model, so that users can dictate instructions to the AI agent through a natural conversation for it to execute them in the background or notify when the tasks have been completed.
