The private entity Banco do Brasil recorded until June a net profit attributed of 4.795 million reais (799.3 million euros), which represents a decrease of 22.9% compared to the result obtained in the same period of the previous year.

The net interest margin, once provisions for losses were deducted, fell by 7.8%, to 15.065 million reais (2.511 million euros). In parallel, non-interest income reached 28.263 million reais (4.711 million euros), which represents an increase of 9.6%.

For its part, the total of non-interest-related expenses remained practically unchanged at 40.604 million reais (6.769 million euros), after advancing only 0.3% compared to the previous year.

In the second quarter of the year, the bank's earnings stood at 2.398 million reais (399.8 million euros), 13.8% below the figure from a year ago. In that same period, net interest less provisions and the rest of the billing were at 7.618 million and 14.331 million reais (1.270 and 2.389 million euros), which represents a decline of 5% in the first case and an increase of 3.4% in the second.

Looking ahead to the coming years, Banco do Brasil expects that 2026 will conclude with an advance of net interest of between 7% and 11%, as well as with adjusted net income situated in a range of between 18.000 and 22.000 million reais (3.001 and 3.667 million euros).
