BNP Paribas Asset Management (AM) has announced the appointment of Sol Hurtado de Mendoza as the new CEO for Spain and head of distribution for Spain and Portugal, according to the manager's communication.
In parallel, the firm has managed to double its size in the local market and has significantly enhanced its commercial and customer service capabilities both in Spain and Portugal.
Within this new structure, the entity has strengthened the resources allocated to sales, customer service, and business development areas. For its part, the compliance and legal functions will maintain their current configuration and will continue to assume their specific responsibilities within the organization.
Graduated in Economic and Business Sciences from the Pontifical University Comillas (ICADE) and with a diploma in International Trade from the University of Berkeley, the newly appointed CEO of the entity has been the general director of BNP Paribas AM for Iberia since 2013.
The executive joined the group in 2001, where she has held various relevant positions, such as head of international business or general director. Previously, she developed her career as head of relations with Spanish and Portuguese entities at DG Bank AG and began her professional trajectory in the markets room of BNP Paribas in Spain.
