Cesce, entity attached to the Ministry of Economy, Commerce and Business, formalized during the first half of 2026 insurance on behalf of the State for a total of 3.392 billion euros, which represents an increase of 34% compared to the same period of the previous year.

This volume of issuance is above the rate recorded in 2025, a year that closed with 6.300 billion euros and which, to date, constituted the largest figure for contracting on behalf of the State, as detailed by the agency in a statement.

At the same time, the amount of export and internationalization operations backed by public coverage continues to rise. Specifically, the issued insurance allowed support for export contracts and investments totaling 14.398 billion euros, 9% more than in the same period of the previous year.

The increase in the insured volume highlights the dynamism of the Spanish business fabric, which maintains its capacity to open new markets and lead large investment projects abroad, as emphasized by the CEO of Cesce, Pablo de Ramón-Laca.

Within the activity of the semester, buyer credit accounts for the largest part of the issuance, with 2.023 billion euros, almost double that of a year earlier. In addition, 72% of the issued insurance is associated with operations with terms longer than 24 months.

The live risk portfolio on behalf of the State rose to 24.328 billion euros as of June 30, marking a new historical maximum. A significant proportion is linked to buyer credit operations with foreign debtors, along with guarantees, working capital loans, and investment policies, both in Spain and outside its borders. The claims rate remains contained.

During the semester, claims amounting to 26.6 million euros were paid, with 9.5 million in recoveries obtained, a reduced amount compared to the 172.1 million euros in earned premiums.
