Digi Spain Telecom has launched the free calls and SMS from Spain to Colombia for all its customers with contract rates, in response to the earthquake recently recorded in the Latin American country.
The earthquake, with a magnitude of 7.4 on the Richter scale and with its epicenter this Monday in the municipality of San José del Palmar, in the northwest of Colombia, has so far caused 132 fatalities and more than 570 injured people, according to the provisional balance released by the Colombian Association of Capital Cities (Asocapitales).
The Spanish subsidiary of the Romanian telecommunications group Digi Communications has decided to implement this measure with the aim of allowing its users to communicate more easily with family and friends who have been affected by the earthquake.
The company has also expressed its support and closeness to all those affected by the earthquake in Colombia and to their immediate surroundings.
"All our support and solidarity to the people affected by the earthquake in Colombia. In times like this, keeping in touch with your loved ones is more important than ever," is stated in a message published this Tuesday on LinkedIn by the 'teleco'.
