The Ibex 35 was strongly consolidating its bullish tone in the mid-session of this Monday, standing at 19,711.5 points around 12:00 hours. This level implies a rise of 1.01%, above the increase of 0.66% recorded in the early stages of the day.

Investors continue to pay attention to the situation in the Middle East after the President of the United States (USA), Donald Trump, stated this weekend that he is willing to meet with the President of Iran, Masud Pezeshkian, within the framework of the annual session of the UN General Assembly taking place this week in New York, which has pushed oil prices down.

In parallel, the President of the Iranian Parliament, Mohamad Baqer Qalibaf, reiterated this Sunday that free passage through the Strait of Hormuz will not be allowed until the conditions set by Tehran are accepted, among which are the lifting of sanctions and the end of hostilities.

International and national macroeconomic references

In the macroeconomic sphere, the People's Bank of China (PBC) has opted to keep the interest rates of its one and five-year loan facilities unchanged, considered respectively as benchmarks for consumer credit and mortgages, the last cut of which took place in May 2025.

In Spain, the National Institute of Statistics (INE) has announced that the services sector recorded a 4.8% increase in its billing in July compared to the same month in 2025, a rate almost four points lower than that of the previous month and the most moderate since February (+2.1%). It has also noted that the turnover of the industry rose by 4.1% in July compared to the same period in 2025, more than five points below the June figure.

Corporate movements and business news

In the business realm, it was known before the opening that Telefónica has decided to integrate its digital business unit Telefónica Tech, one of the largest subsidiaries of the group, into Telefónica España.

On its part, Aena has assured that the "demanding" Airport Regulation Document (DORA III), approved by the Council of Ministers this past Tuesday, "guarantees a network of airports of general interest with the necessary capacity to respond to the evolution of air traffic over the coming decades."

Furthermore, Cox Infrastructure Group has reported that its subsidiary Befesa Desalination Developments Ghana Limited (BDDG), 95% owned by the company, has received two favorable final arbitration awards against Ghana Water Company Limited (GWCL) and the Republic of Ghana for the Accra desalination plant project.

Highlighted values, other markets, and commodities

In this scenario, the stocks that advanced the most in the mid-session were Acciona Energía (+2.33%), Cellnex (+2.08%), Aena (+1.89%), Bankinter (+1.85%), Banco Sabadell (+1.68%), and Unicaja (+1.61%). On the opposite side, only five companies were in the negative at midday: Naturgy (-0.68%), Repsol (-0.44%), Indra (-0.19%), Enagás (-0.18%), and Rovi (-0.09%).

The rest of the main European markets were also moving upwards. London was up 0.85%; Paris, 0.99%; Frankfurt, 1.05%; and Milan, 1.22%.

Regarding crude oil, the Brent barrel fell by 2.37%, to $101.39, while West Texas Intermediate (WTI) was at $98.01, representing a cut of 2.28%.

Debt, risk premium, and currencies

Within the fixed income market, the yield on the Spanish 10-year bond fell to 3.911%, down from the 3.998% it closed at on Friday. Consequently, the risk premium over the German bond narrowed to 45.5 basis points.

In the currency market, the euro depreciated by 0.05% against the greenback, with the exchange rate at 1.1480 dollars per euro.
