The Insurance Compensation Consortium has agreed to renew the composition of its board of directors and replace Jorge Alberto Ferreras with Celia Castañs as a member, as stated in the Official State Bulletin (BOE) published this Tuesday.

Ferreras was appointed last March as the general director of Taxes of the Ministry of Finance. Previously, he had served as the deputy general director of Tax Policy, after holding other positions of responsibility both in the Permanent Representation of Spain to the EU in Brussels and in the Ministry itself.

For her part, Castañs was appointed last September as the deputy general director of Taxation of Financial Operations, a position she accessed after having worked as an area coordinator within the same unit.

The new member holds a doctorate in Biochemistry and Molecular Biology and also has a master's degree in Public Management, Public Policies, and Taxation.

In the current board of directors of the Consortium, the general director of Insurance and Pension Funds, José Antonio Fernández Pinto, serves as president. Also part of the body are the deputy general director of Inspection, Carolina Lameiro; the deputy general director of Securities Market Legislation and Financial Instruments, Ana Puente; the deputy general director of Organization, Studies, and Social Welfare, María Francisca Gómez-Jover; the deputy general director of Solvency, Magdalena Rubio; the director of Enesa, Miguel Pérez; and the state lawyer Álvaro Echevarría.

Representing the private sector are the deputy general director of FIATC, Marisa Galán; the general director of Mutua, Javier Mira; the CEO of Axa Spain, Olga Sánchez; the deputy general director of Control of Mapfre Iberia, María Yolanda García; the CEO of Reale, Ignacio Mariscal; and the CEO of Occident, Hugo Serra.
