Unicaja Asset Management, the investment fund manager of Unicaja, has surpassed 15 billion euros in assets under management. This new milestone in its activity consolidates its progress in the savings and investment business, placing it among the firms with the highest growth in the sector, according to data from Inverco.
According to a statement from Unicaja, in light of this figure, the CEO of Unicaja AM, Emilio Mejía, emphasized that "reaching 15 billion euros under management reflects the evolution of the manager's capabilities and its value proposition." He also added that "the strengthening of our specialized teams allows us to continue advancing in investment solutions and in closer support to the network and its clients."
This progress occurs in a context of strengthening the internal capabilities of the manager and closer coordination with the commercial network, with the aim of continuing to drive investment solutions aligned with the needs of Unicaja's clients.
Within this process, the completion of the integration of Unicorp Patrimonio into the group allows Unicaja AM to increase its specialized resources and leverage the technical capabilities and investment track record of this company.
Specifically, the manager assumes the management and supervision of the "model portfolios" used in discretionary portfolio management services, as well as in the advisory proposals on investment funds.
This evolution is integrated into the strategic lines of the Strategic Plan 2025-2027, which includes enhancing the segments with the highest added value and boosting capabilities related to asset management.
Strengthening teams and specialized profiles
As part of this process, six professionals from Unicorp Patrimonio have joined Unicaja Asset Management to strengthen the areas of Investments, Regulatory Compliance, and Investment Products and Solutions.
In the Investments Area, Elena Martín Priego joins the team for selection and management of third-party funds; María José González joins the group responsible for discretionary portfolio management; and Santiago De la Plata as a fixed income fund manager. All three have extensive experience in asset management, fund selection, and portfolio administration.
On the other hand, Victor Durán assumes new responsibilities in the Regulatory Compliance Area. Likewise, José Ignacio Gutiérrez and Lourdes Fernández de Córdoba join the Investment Products and Solutions Area, from where they will provide support to the different territorial directions and the business network.
Their trajectory will allow reinforcing technical and commercial support and bringing the manager's capabilities in portfolio construction, fund positioning, and product selection closer to the network.
With this new scenario, Unicaja Asset Management faces a new phase of growth, with more specialized resources to continue developing investment solutions tailored to the savings needs of Unicaja's clients and strengthen support for the commercial network.
