The Confederation of Tenant Unions (CSI), along with UGT, CCOO, CGT, Social Action of Workers' Solidarity, and Co.Bas, have ratified this Wednesday the call for a general strike of 24 hours for Wednesday, November 11, as a protest against the current housing situation in Spain.

This strike is announced in a political context marked by the decision of the President of the Government, Pedro Sánchez, to bring forward the general elections to November 29, after the Plenary of Congress rejected last Friday the two Royal Decree-Laws on housing that the Executive had brought to the Chamber.

"The general strike of 11N is the response to the insatiable real estate greed that speculates with one of the main rights of citizenship, making it practically impossible for the majority to access decent housing," reads a joint statement issued by CCOO and UGT.
