The Intergroup for the support of the peace process in Colombia of the Basque Parliament held a meeting this Thursday with Mateo Echeverry, a member of the Colombia Mission, with the aim of exchanging recent information about the humanitarian situation and the development of the peace process in the Latin American country.

Echeverry's presence in Euskadi is part of the presentation of a case study on mobility restrictions within the framework of the Colombian armed conflict and its impact on food security, an initiative promoted by Action Against Hunger together with Hegoa, the Institute of Studies on Development and International Cooperation of the EHU.

During the meeting, the focus was placed on analyzing the humanitarian consequences of the conflict and identifying the difficulties faced by the affected communities, in a scenario where the construction of peace and the defense of the rights of the population continue to be essential aspects, as noted by the Basque Chamber in a statement.
