The private hospital management market in Spain reached a value of 14.630 billion euros in 2025, representing an increase of 5.3 percent compared to the previous year, according to a study by the DBK Sectoral Observatory of INFORMA.
With this evolution, the sector has already recorded five consecutive years of increases exceeding 5 percent. The observatory highlights that this positive dynamic was favored by the rebound in demand for private healthcare services, in a scenario of saturation of the public health system and a determined investment by private operators in technological modernization, aimed at reinforcing the diagnostic and therapeutic capabilities of the centers.
The report identifies the insurance segment, mutuals, and collaborating entities with Social Security as the main driver of growth, whose billing amounted to 8.460 billion euros. In 2025, this area experienced an increase of 7 percent and concentrated 58 percent of the global market value.
In parallel, revenues derived from agreements with public healthcare stood at 4.805 billion euros, with a more contained advance, close to 3 percent, which represents just under a third of the total business volume of the sector.
The billing corresponding to pure private clientele contributed the remaining 9 percent of the market, with 1.365 billion euros, a figure that also implied a growth of 3 percent compared to the previous year.
Regarding the configuration of the offer, in 2025 there were 420 private hospitals operating in Spain, which together accounted for 46,552 beds. This provision placed the average capacity at 111 beds per center, reaffirming the predominance of relatively small clinics.
