The Parliament asks the Government to strengthen prevention against viral challenges and risky behaviors among minors.

The Parliament will ask the Government to promote protocols to detect and act in situations of risk derived from viral challenges or behaviors spread on social networks, in coordination between educational centers, social services, child and youth mental health services, and State Security Forces and Corps. The parliamentary groups unanimously approved this Thursday, in the Education and Universities Commission, a non-legislative proposal (PNL) promoted by the PP to prevent risk behaviors and viral challenges among minors in the digital environment. The Parliament also asks the Government to promote specific awareness and prevention campaigns aimed at children, adolescents, families, and the educational community, regarding the risks associated with the dissemination of dangerous behaviors and viral challenges on social networks. Also unanimously, it has been voted in favor of urging the Government to strengthen prevention programs and responsible digital education in educational centers, especially in relation to digital social pressure, imitation of risk behaviors, privacy protection, emotional health, and physical and psychological consequences derived from viral content. Likewise, the parliamentary groups ask the Government to develop materials and pedagogical tools to facilitate the early detection of risk behaviors linked to the digital environment. These materials and tools will be allocated to educational centers, youth services, and social entities. Overall, the Parliament requests the central Government to strengthen collaboration with digital platforms and social networks to expedite the detection and removal of content that promotes dangerous behaviors, self-harm, violence, or any practice that may endanger the health of minors. This point has been the only one that did not have unanimity. Everyone voted in favor, except for one deputy from Unidas Podemos who abstained. EXPANSION OF THE VOCATIONAL TRAINING OFFER IN MENORCA The Parliament has unanimously approved another PNL, in this case promoted by the PSIB, to develop a plan for the vocational training offer in Menorca. The groups ask the Government to develop this plan and to include the forecast of groups, places, and necessary teaching staff for the 2027-2028 academic year. Thus, they request the expansion of groups and places for intermediate level when the evolution of demand and training and labor needs justify it, the expansion of groups and places for intermediate level. The Parliament urges the Government to expand the cycles that maintain waiting lists for several courses and that are linked to sectors with demand for qualified professionals, real possibilities of labor insertion, and academic continuity. The Government is asked to plan the vocational training offer taking into account the requests from one course, the evolution of demand, the needs of the labor market, the number of minors without a place, and the insular reality of Menorca. The groups have also approved asking the Government to guarantee the necessary resources to expand the offer, through the recruitment of specialized teaching staff, the adaptation of spaces and equipment, and the expansion of the network of companies and organizations where students can develop their training. Finally, the Parliament requests the Government to monitor young people aged 16 and 17 who do not obtain a place and to ensure they are guaranteed an appropriate training alternative in Menorca, without considering that the existence of places on another island resolves their educational need.
