The maximum responsible for the Islamic Resistance Movement (Hamas), Jalil al Haya, has warned of a worsening situation in the Gaza Strip and has urged the mediating countries to demand an immediate end to the escalation of attacks, as well as strict adherence to the commitments set in the first phase of the peace plan promoted by U.S. President Donald Trump.
In a statement disseminated by the organization and cited by the newspaper "Filastin," Al Haya has conveyed to the mediators and several allied governments his concern about the rise in attacks within the framework of the conflict. At the same time, the Palestinian leader has warned of the rapid deterioration of the humanitarian crisis in the enclave with the arrival of winter, a situation that is exacerbated by the blockade on the entry of heavy machinery necessary for reconstruction tasks and by the restrictions on the supply of temporary shelters, tents, and cold protection equipment.
Hamas has denounced that the resumption of targeted attacks and military operations — which, according to the organization, also extend to the West Bank and the accesses to the Al Aqsa mosque — undermines the possibilities of stabilization and violates the multilateral commitments regarding recovery and reconstruction. In this context, the Islamist movement has asked the mediating parties, particularly the representatives of Egypt and Qatar, to exert the necessary pressure to immediately allow the entry of rescue material and humanitarian aid.
Meanwhile, the countries involved in the mediation have reiterated during the talks their determination to maintain emergency assistance to the civilian population and have assured that they will continue diplomatic efforts with influential actors, with the aim of ensuring the full implementation of the agreement designed by the White House.
