The Israeli Prime Minister, Benjamin Netanyahu, paid tribute this Friday to the victims of the September 11, 2001 attacks, drawing a parallel between the attack carried out by Al Qaeda in the United States and the assault on October 7, 2023 against Israel, carried out by Hamas.
In a video shared on his social media, the head of the Israeli government stated that "On September 11, the United States was struck by pure evil. On October 7, Israel was struck by it again," dedicating some words to the "innocent people" who died in the Twin Towers and emphasizing that, in his opinion, both Israel and the United States face the same type of threat.
Netanyahu insisted that "It is no coincidence. They hate us both for the same reason. Because the United States and Israel represent freedom, democracy, civilization, and life," stressing that, in his view, the origin of the hatred towards both countries is linked to the values they embody.
The Prime Minister also criticized those who "say that we must understand the terrorists, understand their grievances, understand their context," and emphasized that "There is no context that justifies burning families alive. There is no grievance that justifies deliberately murdering innocent people. When it comes to terrorism, there is no 'yes, but'."
In this regard, he emphasized that the "terrorists" jointly proclaim "death to the United States, death to Israel," and defended that both countries must stand up to this shared threat. In this context, he highlighted the role of then U.S. President, Donald Trump, whom he attributed a firm leadership against terrorism.
Netanyahu assured that "The United States is once again demonstrating that it is facing terror. So today we remember those who were taken from us and honor those who ran into the flames," emphasizing that the United States and Israel remain "together." "We will never bow to terror. We will never surrender to evil. And together we will defeat it," he concluded.

For his part, the president of Israel, Isaac Herzog, has recalled how the skies of New York "were torn apart by the horrible image of the Twin Towers collapsing to the ground," in a message in which he honors the thousands of deceased and highlights the dedication of those who participated in the rescue efforts at the World Trade Center complex.
Herzog has emphasized that "We will never forget the courage and heroism of the first responders and emergency services, along with the everyday New Yorkers who ventured into the fire and dust to save the lives of their fellow citizens," referring to the sacrifice of those who risked their lives to assist the victims.
The Israeli president has also pointed out that "the global fight against terrorism continues every day," something that, he said, in Israel is "known all too well." "Simply put, there is no justification for attacking innocent people, whether they are American, Israeli, or of any other nationality," he insisted, rejecting any attempt to legitimize this type of violence.
Herzog has reiterated that Israel "will always stand by the United States," which he has described as "the greatest ally and friend" of Tel Aviv and "the most powerful nation in the world," thus reinforcing the idea of a strategic and lasting alliance between both countries against terrorism.
