The Bulgarian authorities communicated this Wednesday the location of another drone on Kabakum beach, in the coastal area of Varna, on the shores of the Black Sea, in a context of growing concern about the arrival of these unmanned aerial vehicles in various countries in the region.
The Border Police has cordoned off the area as a preventive measure, while the device —which, according to the Ministry of Defense, did not carry explosive cargo— will be transferred to the naval base of Varna for a detailed analysis, as the Government has indicated in an official statement.
For now, a specialized team from the Navy remains on site inspecting the drone, approximately 2 meters long and 1.5 meters wide, before carrying out its transport, according to information released by the news portal Novinite.
The authorities have indicated that this is the second drone found recently in this area, although they have not provided data on its origin, model, or the circumstances that may have caused its fall. They have also not specified whether the two devices are related to each other.
This new finding occurs at a time when similar incidents have multiplied in recent days. On Tuesday, a specialized team from the naval base of Bugas located another device of these characteristics on the Bulgarian coast, between Albena and Kranevo, although the Ministry of Defense stated that it posed no risk.
In total, it is estimated that around six drones of this type have been detected in the area in recent days. On August 22, the authorities received two other alerts related to the presence of these devices.
