At least one person has been injured, two of them seriously, after the derailment of a train carrying about 150 passengers near a municipality in East Sussex, in the south of the United Kingdom.
The British Transport Police (BTP) has indicated that two of the affected individuals have serious injuries, while the other nine have only suffered minor injuries. "The patients were assessed and treated at the scene of the accident, and some were taken to local hospitals," the agency specified.
Authorities declared a "serious" incident after three carriages of a train heading to Eastbourne derailed in the vicinity of Lewes, both located in the county of East Sussex.
According to the Police, the derailed train, which had departed from London Victoria station on Thursday afternoon, was completely evacuated without any additional setbacks during the operation.
