The Russian authorities reported this Monday the destruction of nearly 400 drones launched by Ukrainian forces during the last hours, while the Ukrainian command claims to have intercepted 85 Russian devices, in a new night of reciprocal attacks in which, for now, no casualties have been reported.
In a statement disseminated on social media, the Russian Ministry of Defense indicated that its air defense systems would have shot down a total of 399 unmanned aerial vehicles in various regions of the country, as well as over the waters of the Black Sea and over the Crimean peninsula, annexed by Moscow in 2014 in a decision that lacks recognition from the international community.
At the same time, the Ukrainian Air Force has indicated that Russian troops launched 108 drones during the night and has assured that 85 of them were neutralized. However, it has admitted that impacts have been recorded in seven locations of Ukrainian territory and has warned that "the attack continues, as there are enemy drones in the airspace."
In recent days, an increase in attacks from both sides between Russia and Ukraine has been observed, following the recent visit to both countries by envoys of the President of the United States, Donald Trump, who seek to reactivate and unblock the process of diplomatic negotiations between the opposing parties.
