The Houthi forces of Yemen have reported a missile and drone attack against a weapons depot and several command centers of the Saudi Army in the Sharurá area, as retaliation for Riyadh's support of the internationally recognized Yemeni government.
According to the insurgent movement, this military strike is being carried out "in response to the continued aggression of the criminal Saudi enemy against our country," particularly against the military facilities from which the "aggression" against "our nation and our people" is coordinated.
"The operation was executed with a large salvo of ballistic missiles and drones, achieving precise and direct hits thanks to the grace and help of Allah," detailed on social media the Houthi military spokesman, Yahya Sari. The targeted area is located in southern Saudi Arabia, near the border with Yemen.
Sari has also issued a direct warning to the Saudi authorities and emphasized that "if they continue with the aggression against our people," they will be forced to carry out "even more severe and massive operations in their territory, the consequences of which will be disastrous for the enemy, with the permission and power of Allah."
In recent days, the Houthi militias have developed an offensive that has allowed them to take control of the southwestern tip of Yemen and thus dominate the strategic Bab el Mandeb strait, a maritime passage that separates Yemeni territory from Djibouti, in the Horn of Africa.
