The Lithuanian authorities have reported this Thursday the arrest in Germany of two men, residents in that country, whom the German Police accuses of having attacked in mid-October the facilities of a company that stores communications equipment from the American company Starlink on Lithuanian territory.
According to the television channel LRT, both suspects, around 20 years old, are charged with leading a terrorist organization linked to similar attacks in other European states, including Bulgaria and Poland.
At the beginning of this month, several unidentified people carried out an incendiary attack with Molotov cocktails against a Lithuanian company, an incident that many initially attributed to Russia, despite the fact that there were already indications that the company could be the target of an attack of this kind.
The Lithuanian prime minister, Mindaugas Sinkevicius, then noted that everything indicated that the alleged perpetrators had no ties to Lithuania, an assessment that is now reinforced after it became known that they have been arrested in Germany, the country in which they reside.
The authorities have detailed that the two men flew to Lithuania the day before the attack and left the country immediately after carrying it out. They currently remain in custody in Germany in application of a European arrest warrant issued by Bulgaria.
