The parliamentary spokesperson for IU and general secretary of the PCE, Enrique Santiago, will head the candidacy of Frente Amplio for the constituency of Seville, according to sources from his organization indicated to Europa Press.
Thus, Santiago will run again for the Andalusian community, although this time he changes constituency compared to 2023, the year in which he held the first position on the list for the province of Córdoba.
The same sources have emphasized that Santiago was designated as number one for Seville with 97% support from the provincial coordinator of IU in the meeting held last Wednesday, the 21st.
During the current legislature, he has served as one of the deputy spokespersons of the plurinational group and has also taken on the spokesperson role for the Interior and Justice commissions of that group.
In Andalusia, other heads of list have also been proposed: the lawyer and activist of the Flotilla heading to Gaza, Rafael Borrego, for the province of Málaga, while in Córdoba the number one falls to the provincial leader of IU, Sebastián Pérez.
