The Ministry of Foreign Affairs, European Union and Cooperation has indicated, at the last hour of the afternoon this Wednesday, that it does not have information about "affected or untraceable Spaniards" as a result of the serious floods recorded in Nepal, in the area near the border with Tibet, a disaster that has already caused nearly a hundred fatalities.
"At the moment, there are no affected or untraceable Spaniards," sources from Foreign Affairs have stated to Europa Press, after the Nepal Tourism Board reported the disappearance of 384 tourists, of which 291 would be foreigners, as a result of the floods caused by the overflow of the Bhotekoshi River, in the Rasuwa district, in the north of the country.
The same sources have emphasized that both the Embassy in India, which also assumes diplomatic representation in Nepal, and the Honorary Consulate in Nepalese territory "are aware of the situation and monitoring it" and are "prepared to provide all necessary consular assistance" to Spanish citizens who may require it.
