The deputy spokesperson of Sumar in Congress and deputy of Compromís, Alberto Ibáñez, has demanded this Wednesday the immediate resignation of the Minister of Defense, Margarita Robles, after the dissemination of some videos by 'ElDiario.es' in which military personnel are seen slapping migrant people in Ceuta.

In a message published on "X", Ibáñez pointed out that Margarita Robles, "now also number 2" of Pedro Sánchez on the lists for Congress for Madrid in the elections on November 29, "should not continue in the position for even one more minute".

Furthermore, the deputy emphasized that "a deep democratization of the army is urgent, expelling the whole bunch of racist torturers and judging them". Earlier this month, "ElDiario.es" released some audios in which military personnel were heard boasting about beating migrants after the massive entry recorded at the end of July.

On the other hand, at the end of September, Amnesty International made public the complaint of "a pattern" of behaviors such as "beatings, harassment, humiliations" against migrant people, particularly criticizing units of Regulares and the Legion.

In both episodes, the Ministry of Defense responded by informing that it had transferred all available documentation to the court in Ceuta and to the Prosecutor's Office for the facts to be investigated.
