The president of the Junta de Castilla y León, Alfonso Fernández Mañueco (PP), has applauded the call for general elections for the next November 29, considering that with this date at the polls, it will put an "end" to an Executive "disastrous for Spain and Castilla y León."

"We celebrate the news, but he has been forced by the Spaniards to call elections," he pointed out during the closing of the VII Congress "White Paper for the development of Salamanca," where he criticized the management of the president of the Government.

In his speech, he criticized that "Sánchez arrives at these elections without having resolved a single one of the problems of the Spaniards and is also surrounded by corruption. He is incapable of solving the housing problem, that of the invasion of Ceuta. Also with the shopping basket through the roof, with energy and fuel prices absolutely skyrocketed. A situation that reflects what we have lived in the last eight years with an incompetent Sánchez to provide solutions and is more focused on clinging to power."

Mañueco reiterated that he is a president who cannot "even take a walk, nor go out on the street," and denounced that Castilla y León has suffered his "continuous disdain," citing as examples "the model of autonomous financing or the abandonment of infrastructures."

For the regional leader, "it is the time for citizens to speak at the polls, to be able to choose a Government of change, that has a project for the future, a project for national reconstruction and also to steer the course of our country, of Spain."
