The Government of Mexico has informed this Thursday that at least one Mexican national continues to be missing and another seven have suffered minor injuries after the railway accident caused by the collision between two high-speed trains in Urda (Toledo), a disaster that, for now, totals 68 dead and about 200 people injured.

In an official note from the Secretariat of Foreign Affairs (SRE), the Mexican Executive has conveyed its "most heartfelt condolences" to the relatives of the fatalities and has reiterated its support for the people and the Government of Spain. The Embassy of Mexico in Madrid, which activated the consular protection protocol from the outset, has detailed that the seven nationals identified on board the trains involved have already been discharged after receiving the necessary medical attention.

As for the citizen whose whereabouts remain unclear, the head of the consular section has filed the corresponding report with the Guardia Civil in Toledo, where the emergency coordination center is located. The diplomatic staff maintains constant and priority communication with the family members of the missing person.
