The Popular Party led by Alberto Núñez Feijóo emphasized this Wednesday that the Constitutional Court has not "protected the fraud" linked to the known as 'grandchildren's law', after the guarantees body dismissed as premature the appeal of the Ombudsman against the suspension of the vote agreed by the Supreme Court.
"The TC does not protect fraud. How big it would be," stressed the spokesperson for the Popular Group in Congress, Ester Muñoz, in a message published on her official profile on the social network 'X', reported by Europa Press.
The popular leader added that those who have promoted this "fraud" face "an investigation ahead," referring to the decision of a judge to admit a lawsuit against Sofía Puente for alleged prevarication related to the 'grandchildren's law'. "What a day Sánchez is having," she stated, to conclude that the electoral campaign is going to be "long" for Pedro Sánchez.
In a very similar line, the Deputy Secretary of Sectoral Coordination of the PP, Alma Ezcurra, has stated: "How bad it must be, that even the Constitutional Court of Conde-Pumpido has not dared to endorse this electoral engineering operation."
The Constitutional Court has resolved, with a large majority, not to admit the appeal of the Ombudsman against the decision of the Supreme Court to suspend the right to vote in the upcoming general elections for those naturalized by the 'grandchildren's law' who do not prove to be descendants of exiles, understanding that the challenge was premature.
According to legal sources reported to Europa Press, the Plenary of the guarantees court adopted this Wednesday the agreement with 10 magistrates in favor of inadmitting the appeal, including its president, Cándido Conde-Pumpido, and two judges against, Ramón Sáez and Juan Carlos Campo.
