Enric Mas already has the victory he had been pursuing for years. The Mallorcan cyclist has conquered this Sunday La Vuelta a España 2026 in Granada, where he completed the last stage without Primoz Roglic putting his leadership in danger. Johannessen took the victory of the final day.
At 31 years old, the Movistar leader transforms his previous attempts into the greatest success of his career. Roglic and the Austrian Felix Gall complete the podium of an edition that ends with a Spaniard at the top for the first time in twelve years.
The resistance against Roglic that decided La Vuelta
Mas had resolved the most difficult part on Saturday, in the last great mountain battle. At the Collado del Alguacil, he maintained the red jersey and left his advantage over Roglic at 2 minutes and 15 seconds, a margin that allowed him to face the farewell in Granada with the race on track.
That day also brought the victory of Mikel Landa and anticipated a festive closing for Spanish cycling. Mas responded to the wear and pressure from his opponents in a stage that exceeded 5,000 meters of accumulated elevation.
The last stage changed the tension of the mountain for celebration. His Movistar teammates accompanied the champion with a special outfit dyed in red, while Granada welcomed the peloton on a route of 112 kilometers with start and finish in the city.

The circuit next to the Alhambra reserved the stage dispute for the riders still seeking a last victory. The attacks broke the initial tranquility, but did not alter the outcome of the general classification.
