The UPL attorney Rosa María Quintanilla has once again brought to the table this Thursday the healthcare infrastructures still not executed in the provinces of León, Salamanca, and Zamora, as well as the absence of solutions to the healthcare management problems in these areas. In response to these criticisms, the Health Counselor, Alejandro Vázquez, has accused UPL of engaging in political hypocrisy for having rejected the regional budget project for 2026 in which, he emphasized, those actions were precisely included.
In his speech, Vázquez has drawn from popular sayings to refer to the Leonese formation: "Neither do they eat the cabbage nor do they let others eat it." "They didn't even allow the amendments to discuss improving the healthcare conditions of León, Zamora, and Salamanca and those of the rest of the Community," the counselor reproached, who also urged UPL to address the minister of the branch, Mónica García, to recover dialogue, negotiate, and close an agreement before the indefinite strike announced for the month of October is finalized.
From the UPL bench, Quintanilla has demanded the counselor to accelerate the actions of his department and has warned that, in her opinion, he is "playing with the lives" of patients by not resolving more swiftly the deficiencies detected in the healthcare of León, Salamanca, and Zamora.
