Apple has officially announced the iPhone Duo, its first foldable phone and one of the biggest design changes in the history of the iPhone. The new device will arrive in Spain with a starting price of 2,339 euros, will be available for pre-order from October 16, and will go on sale on October 23.
The model combines an exterior screen of 5.4 inches with a foldable interior screen of 7.6 inches, the largest incorporated so far in an iPhone. Apple has designed it in a book-like format and claims that, once opened, it is the thinnest iPhone it has ever made.
How much does the iPhone Duo cost in Spain
The price of the iPhone Duo in Spain starts at 2,339 euros for its 256 GB version. Apple will also offer configurations of 512 GB, 1 TB, and 2 TB of storage.
The company will also allow financing of the basic model from 97.46 euros per month for 24 months, according to information published by Apple for the Spanish market.
The new foldable thus becomes one of the most expensive iPhones marketed by the company. The version with the highest capacity, of 2 TB, further raises the final price of the device.
When can it be pre-ordered and when will it be available for sale
Apple will open pre-orders for the iPhone Duo in Spain on Friday, October 16 at 2:00 PM.
The official arrival in stores is scheduled for Friday, October 23, 2026, both on the Apple website and in the company's stores, operators, and selected distributors.
Spain is part of the first group of more than 70 countries and regions where the device will be available from that day.
Two screens: 5.4 inches closed and 7.6 open
The main change of the iPhone Duo is in its foldable format.
When closed, it incorporates a 5.4-inch exterior screen, designed to use the phone similarly to a conventional iPhone. According to Apple, this screen maintains around 90% of the display area of the iPhone 18 Pro.
When opened, a 7.6-inch interior screen appears, designed for consuming content, gaming, and using multiple applications at the same time.
Apple has also added a nanotextured finish on the interior screen to reduce reflections and improve the visual experience.
A20 Pro processor and new C2 modem
The iPhone Duo uses the new A20 Pro chip, manufactured with a two-nanometer process, accompanied by a cooling system using a vapor chamber.
The device also incorporates the C2 modem developed by Apple, one of the components with which the company continues to reduce its dependence on external suppliers.
The foldable format is especially oriented towards multitasking. The interior screen allows two applications to be open simultaneously, one of the features with which Apple aims to differentiate the new format.
Compatible with Apple Pencil
Another of the novelties of the iPhone Duo is the compatibility with Apple Pencil, something unprecedented so far in the iPhone range.
The support allows using the larger interior screen for writing, drawing, or working with applications adapted to the foldable format.
The device will use Touch ID integrated into the side button, instead of the Face ID system usual in Pro models.
48-megapixel cameras
Apple equips the iPhone Duo with a 48-megapixel dual Fusion camera system.
The camera allows working with magnifications of x0.5, x1, and x2, with optical quality zoom up to x2. The company itself places the photographic system of the foldable below the camera set of the iPhone 18 Pro, which maintains a more advanced configuration.
Titanium and two colors
The body of the iPhone Duo is made of grade 5 titanium and Apple will initially market the device in two finishes:
- Stellar white
- Night sky
The hinge incorporates a specific structure to allow the folding of the device while maintaining the rigidity of the set.
iOS 27.1 adapted to the foldable format
The iPhone Duo will arrive with iOS 27.1.
Apple has redesigned part of the interface to take advantage of the interior screen, especially in simultaneous tasks, multimedia consumption, and applications that can distribute information between the two halves of the device.
The company presents precisely the integration between hardware and software as one of the main arguments against other foldable phones that already exist in the market.
Apple's first foldable arrives years after its rivals
Apple enters the foldable mobile segment several years after manufacturers like Samsung or Google.
The iPhone Duo starts at 1,999 dollars in the United States, while in Spain the price begins at the mentioned 2,339 euros. Reuters notes that the model arrives with a price approximately 100 dollars higher than some rival foldables with a comparable basic configuration.
The bet represents one of the deepest changes in the iPhone family since Apple introduced the iPhone X and abandons, for the first time, the single screen format that had characterized the phone since its original launch.
