The counselor of Social Rights and Inclusion of the Generalitat, Raúl Moreno, has pointed out that at this moment 107 people in Catalunya are receiving benefits linked to the ELA Law, aimed at people with a III+ degree of extreme dependence. In addition, he specified that there are another 59 applications that are in the processing phase.

Moreno provided this data during the control session of the Govern in the Parliament this Wednesday, in response to a question from ERC deputy Juli Fernández. In his speech, he detailed that the management of these aids is being resolved in an average period of 43 days and emphasized: "We are making an agile processing, prioritizing the dependency assessments of these people," he defended.

The counselor explained that the Govern is accompanying families in the search and selection of companies that can provide specialized professionals to care for people with ELA. He added that they hold weekly meetings with these entities to monitor the provision and study the "bottlenecks" that may arise, especially related to the shortage of qualified personnel.

In this regard, he insisted that there is no problem of "administrative procedure" and emphasized that the main need is to have more specialized professionals to ensure care and be able, he claims, to further accelerate the response in those cases where families are trying to locate personnel.

For this reason, he announced that when they manage to "attend and improve training," the Govern will be in a position to approve a new agreement to increase the possibilities for these professionals to care for the entire group of affected people, also linked to the increase in the amount of these benefits.
