The deputy of Más Madrid Hugo Martínez Abarca has lashed out this Thursday against the president of the Community of Madrid, Isabel Díaz Ayuso, whom he accuses of only seeking for "the vultures to get rich and for the Maricarmen to have to leave home," while from the regional Executive they reply that they have not promoted housing policies and that they only dedicate themselves to "defending the squatters."

The exchange of reproaches took place during the session of control to the Government in the Assembly of Madrid. The parliamentarian recalled that, while a good part of the country was "moved" by the eviction of the elderly woman from her apartment in the Retiro district, Ayuso, as he denounced, was "applauding" the vulture funds and "thanking them for ruining the lives of the madrileños."

"You have been saying since last night that we should not politicize Maricarmen's situation. The truth is that it leaves me astonished, I do not understand you, I do not know why you got into politics," Martínez Abarca pointed out, explaining that he jumped into politics to "defend the healthcare of all, education, and that all madrileños could have housing."

In contrast, he maintained that Díaz Ayuso entered politics to live "really well." "We got into politics so that no one lives like shit. That is the difference between you and us," emphasized the deputy of Más Madrid.

Martínez Abarca denounced that "what they have done these two weeks, insulting, harassing, lying about Maricarmen to protect the vultures, is a damn shame," and he charged against the "lack of humanity" of the regional Government, while stating that the Plenary this Thursday "makes no sense."

For her part, the counselor of Economy, Finance, and Employment, Rocío Albert, responded by criticizing that the Más Madrid parliamentarian does not understand "the concept of respect" and that he intends to prevent debate on the public services of the Community.

"Of course, there comes the housing issue and you, as you are a big holder and a multiple property owner," Albert reproached, to which the deputy thanked her for pointing out that he does politics "against his interests" but in accordance with his principles.

The counselor has reiterated that the central Government has not adopted effective measures in housing in the last eight years and that it has limited itself to supporting the president, Pedro Sánchez. In her opinion, the left is solely dedicated to defending "the squatters" and has emphasized that "the only one who has done housing" is the counselor Jorge Rodrigo.
