Vox in Madrid has requested in the regional Assembly an institutional declaration that condemns the episodes of violence against the party's campaign events and that points to the president of the Government, Pedro Sánchez, as "the direct responsible" for "all the violence" that is "being seen and will be seen in Spain".
The proposal, which Europa Press has had access to, has been registered by the leader of the parliamentary group in the Vallecas Chamber, Isabel Pérez Moñino, and was explained in the press conference following the Board of Spokespersons.
In the text, it is detailed that in "La Coruña, Avilés, and Mahón" groups of "far-left have violently attacked the Vox events where Santiago Abascal was going to address the Spaniards".
The institutional declaration emphasizes that "These are not isolated episodes. The violence we see in Barcelona and the attacks against Vox events are the consequence of the climate of hatred that Pedro Sánchez has been feeding for years from the Government and that today his militias are putting into practice in the streets before the elections," although the document is unlikely to move forward, given that unanimity from all Political Groups is required for it to be read in the Plenary.
The text not only holds Sánchez responsible but also refers to the Popular Party, expressing concern that "the PP understands" that the elections are "a competition against Vox" and that it is "more concerned" with weakening this formation than "with putting an end to this Government".
"Because while Sánchez continues to divide Spaniards and violence spreads through our streets, it would be unforgivable for the Popular Party to dedicate its efforts to combating those of us who want to oust him from power," adds the declaration.
Finally, the spokesperson for Vox in the Assembly has stated that "it is time to point out far-left female deputies who in this parliamentary seat have expressed terrible phrases encouraging violence".
