The First Section of the Provincial Court of Castellón has imposed a sentence of six years in prison on a man who sexually assaulted a minor, and also orders him to compensate her with 5,000 euros for the moral damages caused, according to the Superior Court of Justice of the Valencian Community (TSJCV).

The ruling, issued after the agreement reached between the Prosecutor's Office, private prosecution, and defense on the same day of the trial, held on June 9, considers the accused responsible for a crime of sexual assault with carnal access. Along with the prison sentence, the court establishes five years of supervised release and six years of prohibition from approaching or communicating with the victim.

The events date back to November 19, 2023, when the young woman, 17 years old at that time, and a friend of hers, after spending the night partying in Castelló, left with the accused, 28 years old, and another man to the first one's home.

The victim, who was under the influence of alcohol and narcotic substances, fell asleep in one of the rooms of the house. The now convicted man took advantage of that situation to sexually assault her.

The sentence details that, when the young woman woke up and started screaming at him to stop because she did not want to have sexual relations, the man reacted by slapping her several times in the face and pulling her hair.

The judicial resolution has become final after all parties involved in the proceedings expressed their agreement with the ruling.
