The court on duty in Los Llanos de Aridane (La Palma) has ordered this Monday the provisional imprisonment, communicated and without the possibility of bail, for the man who allegedly caused the death of a woman by running her over in the municipality of Los Llanos de Aridane.
After giving a statement before the judicial authority, the accused is being investigated as the supposed responsible for a crime of negligent homicide, for leaving the scene of the accident, for a crime against road safety for driving without a license, and for another crime against road safety for doing so under the influence of alcohol.
The incident took place on the night of last Saturday in the neighborhood of Argual, when the man, 33 years old, who was driving recklessly, struck a 75-year-old woman with his vehicle. He subsequently fled the scene, being arrested by the Guardia Civil shortly after.
