The president of the Generalitat, Salvador Illa, has communicated that he will establish three days of official mourning in Catalonia following the railway accident that occurred this Wednesday in Urda (Toledo).

In a message on "X" collected by Europa Press, he has conveyed his affection and the support of Catalonia to the relatives and friends of the victims of the accident.

The resolution will be published in the Diari Oficial de la Generalitat de Catalunya (DOGC) and the mourning period will extend from Thursday until Saturday, October 31.

During those days, official celebrations will be canceled and the flags will fly at half-mast in the buildings and offices of the Generalitat, as well as in the rest of the Catalan public corporations.

In addition, the public agenda of the members of the Govern will be reduced "to the minimum necessary" during these three days of mourning.
