The president of the Government of the Region of Murcia, Fernando López Miras, has extended a hand to Vox to close a budget agreement this Wednesday, as long as the negotiation is limited to purely economic aspects. "This afternoon we can sign it," assured the head of the Executive during his intervention in the Control session of the regional Government in the Assembly.
López Miras has proposed to review together with Vox the 16-page document sent by the party to select only those proposals directly linked to budget items and spending programs.
The Murcian leader emphasized that any agreement on the regional accounts must focus on fiscal measures and the distribution of public spending, avoiding the incorporation of "conditions unrelated to the budgets" or demands that do not have a direct reflection in the regional accounts.
This debate has also been the focus of the intervention of the deputy of the Mixed Group José Ángel Antelo, who urged the Murcian Government to present the budget project for 2026 and to apply the resolutions approved in the last Debate on the State of the Region.
In his response, López Miras indicated that, of the twelve resolution proposals impacting the regional finances, around 80% has already been implemented, and that the goal of the Executive is to reach one hundred percent execution. Furthermore, he detailed that most of these measures do not require new items, but rather an internal reorganization of the resources already available.
"We do not give up and do not lose hope that the Region of Murcia could have budgets," emphasized the president, who reiterated that the needs of the citizens will be met whether new accounts are approved or if they ultimately do not go ahead.
Antelo, for his part, has again insisted on the urgency of presenting the regional budgets and has demanded that projects such as the Comprehensive Emergency Response and Security Center (CIRES) of El Esparragal, the rehabilitation of the Cathedral of Cartagena, and the duplication of several roads in the regional network be accelerated.
